Obese Kids How Can We Prevent or Cure It?

The problem of obese kids is unfortunately increasing as our children eat too much junk food and don’t get enough exercise. What are some solutions? As parents, teachers or other guardians we have to teach them facts about nutrition at a young age.

 

If they are given guidance, kids can learn to eat healthy snacks and meals. Eating habits in both kids and adults are just that, habits. We can all learn to drink more water and less soda, eat more fruit and fewer candy bars and so on.

 

Some healthy snacks for kids include trail mix, granola, fruit, nuts, yogurt, peanut and other nut butters without added sugar, fresh-popped popcorn, whole grain breads and crackers. You can also find healthier, less sweetened types of desserts or learn to make them at home.

 

There is also the issue of exercise and physical activity. If kids are driven around everywhere and spend all of their spare time online or in front of the television, how can they not become overweight? The fact is, almost all kids have a basic yearning to run around and play. We must make sure they have enough opportunities to express this, whether through sports or simply free outdoor play time.
